La Cucur

Eating Session

La Cucur
NU Sentral

Its a set dish, you get one meal, a piece of kuih
and one drink of choice at RM 15.00.

Was looking for the Laksa Johor, too bad it wasn't its day.
The Curry Mee was not bad at all.
Love the crunchy cut red and green chillies.
The kuih I chose was the Bread Pudding,
which was just nice for me
since it was not too sweet.

Going Mexican?

Naah..just Fresca at The Gardens

/\ In the middle is Hot Cappuccino, top is Pescado al Mojo de Ajo (grilled fish with rice and salad). The grilled fish and salad was so nice, the fish came with a lot of sliced grilled garlic, my favourite.

/\ This is Tacos Alambre, tacos with grilled beef fillings. Yes I actually ordered Tacos for breaking of fast (iftar) , why not? I also managed eating them Tacos without much fillings falling down onto the plate. I used my bare, right hand of course, and that was fun!

/\ One way to eat taco.

/\ Another way to eat it.

I went to Fresca Mexican Kitchen & Bar on one of the last few days of Ramadan. The environment was relaxing and the ambience was stress-free. Comfortable seatings. Waiters and waitresses are mostly Filipinos, and they are well-versed with the menu. They are also hyperly friendly, warm and courteous. Love this place. Wouldn't mind returning again.

Hai(t)!

Samurai Burger is in town.

First had it many years ago.

Love the teriyaki sauce and the juicy beef.

So today`s high-tea was a Samurai Burger (minus the French Fries, coz I`m controlling my carbo intake, urgh), hot tea and a strawberry Cornetto Sundae with corn flakes.

That was a pretty yummy fulfilling one.

Rocketing

Wild Rocket

One of my favourite vegetable is this rocket. First found it in a mixed salad bowl. Liked it so much I had to go to the supermarket to look for a whole pack of rocket. This pack of wild rocket is so fresh and crispy, it has a nice bitterly taste. Now eveybody at home like it so much. We normally eat it raw with white rice.

*Rocket is rich in calcium, which is fairly rare. It also contains iron and vitamin C. Renowned for its high erucic content, which can be toxic in large doses, it features widely in salads across south America. In southern Europe, it is eaten as part of mixed salads. Rocket is traditionally used as an appetite stimulant and for its digestive properties. A source of vitamin C, it helps the body to assimilate the iron in red meat. The perfect combination of taste and nutrition!

**Wild rocket is a flowering plant from the mustard family and is a close relative of the brassica. This family of plants is particularly nutritious and well known for its cancer-fighting properties due its wide array of phytonutrients. This variety of rocket is small, has dark green leaves with a mustard-like flavour, and is very versatile. Wild rocket, like many other leafy vegetables, is mostly made up of water, however, it does make a worthy contribution to our antioxidant intake. It also contains some protein and fibre.

Penyet!

Late Lunch, Again.

Photo of a Minangkabau house as wall display.

*The Minangkabau ethnic group, also known as Minang (Urang Minang in Minangkabau language), is indigenous to the Minangkabau Highlands of West Sumatra, in Indonesia. Their culture is matrilineal, with property and land passing down from mother to daughter, while religious and political affairs are the responsibility of men (although some women also play important roles in these areas). Rumah gadang (Minangkabau: 'big house') or rumah bagonjong (Minangkabau: 'spired roof house') are the traditional homes of the Minangkabau.

This restaurant serves Indonesian and Minang cuisine. Their signature dish is the Ayam Penyet.

**Ayam Penyet is a traditional Indonesian cuisine which originates from Surabaya. It is a popular chicken dish where the fresh chicken is specially marinated with various spices and herbs . The meat is then smashed with a wooden headed hammer and deep fried until golden light brown. One of the unique feature in preparing this funny name dish is the art of frying where it is crispy from outside and juicy inside.*

We had the Ayam Penyet set, Gulai Pucuk Ubi Lemak Cili Api, with white rice; and Hot Lemon Tea and Mango Lovers Fruit Ice Blended. The food was marvellous for us, and both drinks were fantastic. Their hot lemon tea is my personal favourite. The restaurant is presentable and service was fast and good.

Avocado Day

Avocado With Milk

Ideally I should use fresh milk, but only for today, I cheated. I mixed it with a little bit of condensed milk.

----------

Believed to be :

**- world`s healthiest fruit because of it`s nutrient contents such as vitamin K, dietary fiber, potassium, folic acid, vitamin C, copper.

- a good source of potassium, a mineral that helps regulate blood pressure. Adequate intake of potassium can help guard against circulatory diseases such as blood pressure, heart disease or stroke.

- good for prevention or treatment of breast cancer and prostate cancer.

InsyaAllah. Eat everything in moderation.
